    Are you a member of STRF? If you are a South Essex Homes tenant or leaseholder - Yes, you are.

    Membership is automatic to all Southend Borough Council/South Essex Homes Tenants, Residents, Leaseholders and authorised person's residing within a Tenant, Resident or Leaseholders property.

    The federations objectives are:

    To discuss general matters and Borough wide issues, make informal judgement and appropriate recommendations; identify solutions to help improve the external and internal image of STRF, develop local pride amongst the residents and to make improvements to local services, which affect the quality of house in their area and enhance the local community.

    To promote activities and facilities both recreational and educational, that will enhance the lives of residents and further develop community spirit.

    To encourage decisions reflecting local needs.

    To monitor maintenance, improvements and developments to Council Properties within the Borough of Southend on Sea.

    To eliminate all forms of discrimination within the community by encouraging all members of any group to participate in the Federation.

    To represent the tenants and resident's associations and partnerships in the Borough of Southend on Sea and also advise and support, where able, all tenants and leaseholders of Southend on Sea Borough Council/ South Essex Homes.

    To set in partnership with Southend on Sea borough Council and South Essex Homes Standards for tenants and leaseholder's involvement in meetings, information sharing and representative of tenant organisations.

    STRF Meetings are held on the last Tuesday of each month on the 1st floor, Civic Centre - 10am to 12 noon.

    The Federation is a voluntary organisation funded by South Essex Homes.  There are many opportunities to become involved with South Essex Homes.

    Focus Groups: These meet to discuss matters relating to Tenants, Residents and Leaseholders within the borough of Southend on Sea.

    Street and Block Voices: These work on behalf on their local Tenants, Residents and Leaseholders, being the voice between them and South Essex Homes.

    Task and Finish Groups: Task and Finish Groups give you the opportunity to improve South Essex Homes services by giving your views on a specific topic over a short period of time.

    Scrutiny Panel: The members scrutinise the workings of South Essex Homes & their groups.

    Committees: Many Tenants, Residents and Leaseholders sit on Committees that are formed when the need arises.
