Southend Tenant & Resident Forum (STRF) is a residents website giving you information on whats going on in your area. Also information from tenants & residents you may find interesting and ideas for you and your community.

About Us?

The Southend Tenants & Residents Forum (STRF) was formed from the merger of the Southend Tenants & Residents Federation and the Residents & Staff Focus Group, with a mission to:

• Represent the whole town

• Be a clear voice for Southend in challenging times

• Harness the strengths of the community to get things done.

Southend has a rich ecosystem of membership organisations, clubs and voluntary institutions. It has one of the best local newspapers for the area.

The STRF has a broad remit to promote and improve the wellbeing of Southend for the benefit of its residents*, and to protect the character of the area.  It does this by:

• Campaigning for Residents

• Working with and supporting other community organisations

• Effective communication – using this website, social media platforms and public events to involve everybody, share information and celebrate success

• Building on the South Essex Homes’ Residents Charter –making progress on priority themes and projects

• Involving the entire community – ensuring that the membership is truly representative and the agenda reflects this

• Maintaining effective links to South Essex Homes, local authority and beyond – a productive partnership with our councillors, central government and other agencies

• To ensure that SEH is kept informed and made aware of the views, needs, aspirations, priorities and issues of concern for its tenants and residents and issues are addressed as appropriate

• The Residents’ Forum is one of the main ways in which residents’ views are consideration. The Forum gives a voice for residents and is open to all residents. You do not need to be elected. All Forum members attend as individuals and do not represent other residents.

• To promote and encourage good practice in Resident Participation.
